I had Derek, Dee Dee, tour bus and concert stage.
My 3 yr old daugher is the current owner of the bus, stage and Derek. Poor Dee Dee was accidentally left behind when we moved couple of years a go.

Has lost some of it’s furniture during the years but is still in use.

These are one of the few first fashion dolls of mine. The one with black hair is Snow White. I still have her dress somewhere. This other lady, I remember her having some kind of hat but I’m not sure. Please help me to figure out who are they.
I probably got them around 1987-1989.

In 1991 Midge was married to Allan. Before and after the Wedding Day Midge doll was sold, many Midge play line dolls were produced.
I remember this day very clearly. My father had promised that I could choose any fashion doll I wanted. She took me to this big shopping center called Sokos. I remember feeling so excited. All those shelves full of beautiful looking dolls waiting to be picked. Then I saw her, Wedding Day Midge. Oh my, she was expensive but my dad kept his promise. I remember holding that doll package in my arms while my dad was driving me to my grandparents for the weekend. During those days we had red Pontiac Trans-Am and since it was summer, he took the roof of. One of those days…
Still today this doll remains as my favorite.

Baby Talk was produced by Galoob in 1985-87 and were three large 18 inch interactive talking dolls. They has plastic heads and limbs, and cloth bodies. When the doll spoke, its eyes and mouth also moved.
I got this beautiful doll as a Christmas gift from my dear grandma. These days my Baby Talk’s eyes and mouth still moves but she is completely mute. Will get her fixed one day. Her outfit is also missing but I do have her original bottle and bib.
Picture borrowed from ghostofthedoll.co.uk. Will add mine later on.

Dolly Surprise were produced by Playskool / Hasbro in 1987-1990. They were a line of 10 inch dolls with hair growing abilities. When her right arm was raised up her ponytail would ”magically” grow by over 3 inches. Her left arm, when raised up and down, would wind the ponytail back in to her head.
I remember getting her from toy shop in Tampere, called Ihme ja Kumma, which doesn’t exist anymore. One of my childhood friends had one of these too. I remember feeling kinda disappointed of getting another blonde doll, again. I was hoping to get the one with ginger hair.
This blog is all about my childhood. I was born in Finland during 1984. I have always been a big fan of fashion dolls. The main idea of this blog is to share my old toys from my childhood and some memories about them. If you have some information about the toys which I’ll be posting here, please feel free to comment.
So let’s begin to go down the memory lane. Ready?
